Now comes the time when I alienate EVERYONE who reads my blog. Yes, both of you.
Have you noticed how many. . .and here I'm not sure how to say this. . .
1. Blogs are written by Latter Day Saints
OR
2. Latter Day Saints blog.
I'm not Mormon, but I mean no disrespect to any LDS readers. In browsing blogs, I slowly began to notice that many were from Utah (not that everyone in Utah is LDS), and how many blogs in general were written by LDS moms.
Is it just me? Has anyone else noticed this? Or have I stumbled on some type of LDS blog link. . .(which I'm thinking is a possibility since LDS families are often large and perhaps the blog writers are all related, linking me from one to one to one. . .)
I love reading blogs, and there are some great blogs out there of LDS families. I just think it seems an oddly disproportionate number. . .
My head hurts. I feel like Seinfeld trying not to offend anyone (I'm not Mormon--not that there's anything wrong with that!). Comment, please. Weird blog connections you've witnessed, etc.?

To tell you the truth, up to now I suspected every other blog writer was one of my public relations consultants colleagues. ;-) Until today I never came across a single blog written by a Latter Day Saint. However, I mostly read blogs written by people from Germany and I guess there are generally not that many Latter Day Saints living here AND writing German blogs. Actually there are quite a few living here, but they would most probably be more connected within the US-blogging-scen. All of which is just an educated guess...
Give me an additional "e" for scene and keep all the other typos I didn't notice ;-)
i connected to a bunch of the lds blogs by following links from daring young mom somewhere or another...
nah i dont think there is a disproportionate amount, you just followed a link circle that went that way for a while. i thought for a while every single blog i found was a southern mama...and they are still ones i follow most often.
steff
I've never noticed that trend, but I have noticed another trend...I have a highly disproportionate amount of readers who blog about being bi-polar...
explain that one.
I guess it's my style of writing?
I've TOTALLY noticed that trend and talked a lot about it with dh.
But, you didn't alienate me since I"m not LDS. ;)
Not noticed that so much myself in blogs. But then again, I'm a fella :) I have LDS neighbours, and their nice to have around.
I suspect what you've come across is common to most religions. Evangelism. Ladies like to be together with other ladies. A 'sisterhood' if you like. Ladies like to get together in a common community, and share their beliefs with those that don't have them.
Mums tend to have partners. Partners share with their partners.
Voila! - evangelism, which for many faith based communities is considered a duty.
On the flip side, people in religious communities can feel a bit isolated, and the net is a great outlet. Am I making sense?
I do have a large number of friends online that are LDS. And I don't know any IRL.
There was a time when I was running across a lot of Mormon blogs. It all started with one mom blogger who I loved, and I followed her links until I was surrounded! I like LDS blogs because they are generally free of bad language and hold strong family values. And some of those Mormon moms are FUNNY!
