chocolate. . .not just for adults

Howdy, all. Well, we have a new word at our house, and the knee-high kiddo is using it repeatedly. Since Kady's mama is a chocoholic (SURPRISE--I know many of you are just now learning this. . .), we have lots of chocolate in the house. I've been pretty sparing thus far in feeding it to her--gotta save it for ME! : ) Anyway, blame the summer, rough week, whatever. . .Kady is now convinced this sweet, brown, taste of heaven is wonderful and should accompany EVERYTHING!!

We walked in last night, and she headed to the fridge. She began to pull on the door and say, "choc, choc, want choc." (She had chocolate milk the night before.) Then, I made the mistake of eating chocolate ice cream for dessert. (Blame the shoulder-high kiddo! He can read and has learned to spot chocolate from 100 yards--smart kid, that one!) Sssssssooooooooo, Kady is now saying, "ice choc, ice choc, mommy, want ice choc, ice choc, mommy!!!" Well, maybe I can move part of the stash to work. . .

schedules. . .I am SO not up to this.

You know those parents who have their kids in EVERYTHING???? I absolutely can not stand to be around those parents. And yet. . .I find myself sounding just like them. Kyler has been camping this week--pick him up today--kady goes thurs--kyler has church stuff thurs--kyler to ok fri--kady to be picked up sat--we leave to see kev sat--pick up kyler on sunday. . .Life is SO crazy. I wish we could slow down, but honestly, I am not sure what we would slow down from. As long as I am working and the kids are in school, I don't think it would matter if we didn't do anything extracurricular. Life is just busy and frantic when you have young kids. I know some will read this and say, "Life is only as busy as you let it be." I really have to disagree. Life will always be busy and frantic with small kids, but you can control the way you look at the commotion. You can choose to be content in the cyclone of life. I am happy to say that I am extremely content right now. I have a good husband, wonderful kids, great family and friends, great church family, and God--what more could a girl ask for? Now, if someone could just help me track down where I left my kids. . .

alone again. . .

Kevin went back to work today. He will be working close to Conway (not to far, at least). Kyler cried and I cried and even Kady cried. . .It will all be ok, however. It was great having him home while we did, and we look forward to seeing him on Sundays over the next few months.

In a totally unrelated post: My cousin's 14 yo son was killed day before yesterday. They live towards Stuttgart. I wish everyone would keep them in your prayers. I can not imagine the pain of losing a child. The fear almost paralyzes me.

Ok, on a much more light-hearted note. . .Does anyone know where I can get a school supply list? Wal-mart is out and I haven't found it on the school website. . .my child will be the only child with no school supplies. . .how pathetic is his mama?

Hope everyone is doing well. . .love to all.

tulsa zoo

Last weekend we took Kyler and Kady to the zoo in Tulsa. MooMoo and Jerrel went with us. It was really HOT, but we had fun. Kev and I took turns chasing kids and taking pics. Here are some of the better pics.

I'm obviously not very good with this blog with pictures thing, so I apologize in advance!! We saw the sea lion show. It was HOT but good.

Yours truly with Kady and MooMoo outside the Rainforest exhibit.

Kyler (or Indiana Jones, as he prefers to be called) and Kevin's frog pic (I was impressed.).

Kevin and Kady check out elephants and a rhino that I thought was way too close.

The lion really wanted back in his den (can't say as I blame him. . .). Don't lions live on the plains of Africa? What happened to his heat tolerance? : )

my baby. . .

whew. . .we survived last night. Kady spent her first night in her big-girl bed!! It really depresses me that my kiddos are growing up SO fast. I wish there was a way to capture these days and remember them forever. . .Ok, emotional mom moment over. Kady did wake up at 3:30 and climb in bed with us. I know some people would consider that a failure. . .I figure these are the only times they'll ever want to sleep with us, so nanny-nanny-boo-boo. ; )

Hard to believe school will be starting soon. Kyler is still enjoying summer. . .I hope his teacher this year is awesome. We've been fortunate with teachers, although no one compares to Mrs. Ray in kindergarten. . .[sigh] We miss Mrs. Ray.

Time to get busy. . .what's everyone else up to this summer. . .comments, anyone?

life on this day

Hello, all. Today is a very wierd day emotionally for me. For those of you who have been following, the men who shot Daniel have pleaded guilty and have been sentenced to life in prison without parole. I ask that all those who will, will continue to pray for Twyla and the kids and the rest of the family. I also thank God for justice. Many of us have been praying for justice in this case. I thank everyone for their prayers.

Changing topics now, 7-year-old boys throughout the country have never been happier about a tv show. Kyler loves to watch and then re-enact this show, "Wipeout." If your kids haven't checked it out, I encourage you to now. Even Kev giggled during the show.

The kids are doing great. We're looking forward to a trip to the zoo this weekend. Let's hope they don't lock my two monkeys up while we're there! : )

Love to all!!

and you thought he was working

As many of you know, Kevin has been working away from home. He has been working on the pipeline since mid-April. I'm happy to say that he is home for the next 2 weeks. However, I've found evidence that they didn't work as hard as they said they did. . .They went hog hunting--on Mother's Day!!
