another observation from the hamster wheel

Last week was rough. I had a very difficult time exercising, and well, let's just say the diet was non-existent. It's very disconcerting to feel you're not making any progress. And my knees hurt. And my calves hurt. And I haven't lost an ounce. And it's not fun. And I'm busy. And I don't have anyone to work out with. And. . .

Enough of the pity party. Here's my quandary. I need something low in sugar and calories that I can eat for breakfast. Oh, and the prep has to be basically non-existent. So, whatcha got? Any good weight loss/healthy breakfast ideas out there?

I'll leave you with one questionable funny--just don't tell my brother or his wife. My candy-loving daughter came this close to feeding my never-tasted-real-sugar-and-never-will-if-his-mama-has-anything-to-say-about-it nephew an m&m. I think my uber healthy sister-in-law (who's usually laid back) almost died. Not a good idea, Sis.

Yoplait Strawberry and white chocolate yogurt or Key Lime Pie yogurt.. 100 calories! Delicious!

I was going to suggest Yoplait too. I like to get the whipped ones and pop them in the freezer for a bit. It is almost like eating icecream for breakfast, and it is good for you.

I just bought Hip Hop Abs for my birthday. You are welcome to work out with me anytime! :0)

I also meant to say that if Kady was feeding Jeremy one of the M&M's from her church eggs that it at least had a peanut in it... protein makes sugar healthier, right???

I am a carb loving, sweet-tooth obsessed fool. However, I recently bought the South-Beach diet book and read it and have been applying some of it's principles to my diet (i.e.,eating nuts, etc., instead of chips, etc.) I haven't lost massive amounts of weight like a lot of people do, but I have lost a few pounds and can really tell a difference in my mid-section (which is where I REALLY needed to take off the weight/inches.)

We make our own smoothies every morning. Yogurt (we make our own) and fruit. Whiz in blender. Drink. You're done. (And you got all your fruit needs for the day in one big cup.)
Push over the exercise hump. It takes mental stamina too!
